The Back to School Calendar
Between Meet the Teacher, Back to School Night, the fundraiser, and sideline sports practice, your fall calendar fills up fast — and every event seems to call for a slightly different outfit. We built a calendar of our own: four occasions, four looks, and endless ways to mix and match everything in between.
Meet the Teacher
First impressions count, even at drop-off. A cream crochet-trim cardigan from Ulla Johnson layers easily over wide-leg, button-front denim (also Ulla Johnson) for a look that's polished without trying too hard. Add a camel fringe suede tote from Nili Lotan and finish with crisp white loafers from Dear Frances — an outfit that says "organized parent" without saying a word.
Back to School Night
Back to School Night calls for something a little more evening-appropriate — think classroom tour meets dinner reservation. A DOEN puff-sleeve white blouse pairs beautifully with a black leather wrap midi skirt from Caballero, striking that easy balance of romantic and refined. A structured brown leather clutch from Nili Lotan and black woven kitten-heel mules from Simon Miller round out a look that's comfortable enough for a full night on your feet, in classrooms and hallways alike.
School Fundraiser
When the invite calls for something with a little more polish, lean into print and texture. A navy ribbed turtleneck sweater vest from Sablyn grounds a bold paisley-print maxi skirt from Ulla Johnson, while a cognac leather clutch from TWP and silver platform sandals from Chie Mihara add just the right amount of shine for an evening event without feeling overdone.
Sports Practice, From the Sidelines
Cheering from the sidelines deserves its own uniform. A striped burgundy-and-navy sweater from Zadig & Voltaire layers over classic light-wash denim from ASKK NY, finished with a red woven crossbody from Clare V and white pom-pom sneakers from Isabel Marant — comfortable enough to chase a soccer ball back onto the field if you have to, stylish enough that you won't mind the photos.
